SRX1099774: Head transcriptome of Cotesia rubecula: Sample Crubecula head transcriptome- R3r1h1
1 ILLUMINA (Illumina HiSeq 2000) run: 18M spots, 3.6G bases, 2.3Gb downloads

Design: "Female wasps were conditioned to form a memory on the host Pieris rapae after three spaced trials. At 3 time points after conditioning the RNA of the wasp heads was isolated, namely 1 hour, 4 hours and 24 hours after conditioning. RNA was also isolated from wasps without conditioning. For each of these 4 groups 20 wasps were taken and 3 biological replicates were made, resulting in 12 RNA samples originating from 240 female wasps. The sequence data of these 12 samples was pooled to assemble the transcriptome de novo."

show Abstracthide Abstract
This C. rubecula transcriptome was assembled to study the differential expression between brains of C. rubecula wasps with or without memory conditioning. These results were compared to those of C. glomerata using the same experimental setup. In this way the natural variation in memory formation between both closely related wasps could be studied, thereby gaining insight on the evolution of memory dynamics.
